QuickTime Update

Version 7.0.1 is on the menu today.

Since the release of QuickTime 7.0, there have been reports of frame-rate "hiccups" when using a Sorensen codec with Final Cut Pro. There have also been rumours* that a malicious coder could sneak "leaky" data into a QuickTime feed via Quartz Composer. The newly released QuickTime 7.0.1 update takes care of both problems - you can get it automatically via the Software Update panel or (as always) you can download the stand-alone updater.

*Note: While this data attack is definitely possible and engineers at Apple have managed to make it work, there have been no examples of it being seen in the real world. Better safe than sorry, though - you should grab this update today.
