A number of readers were quick to gleefully point out one glaring inaccuracy in my post about the world-famous Alek's On-line Christmas Lights. Specifically, that they were all faked. Strangely enough, when you get right down to it, the amount of work he had to do in setting up the fake images and web pages was probably MORE than the work needed to make the thing really work. Plus I bet his wife felt like a real doorknob when she had to flip the switches on and off for the helicopter fly-by ....

ASIDE: The geek community was NOT amused at having been hosed over on this one, and ended up bombing the guy's server into oblivion when the truth came out. What comes around ...
